Bobby Sheehan and his amazing team at Working Pictures (NY) had me up n' over to New York City to film a 60 second interstitial for Sharpie & Ovation TV at the beginning of this summer.

I was staged on a New York fire escape in the rain...sketching away with the Sharpie markers. What an experience!

Drama.

And what...a WONDERFULLY COLORFUL cast of people to work it. It was absolutely the best trip to NY so far, by far. One helluva' week and a half up there.

Fun weather, great food, hot fashion, roaring energy - - can't wait to go back.

Among these people, a girl becomes a woman once she performs this "ritual".

The pink fabric is the symbol of her womanhood. She has to wrap it around herself and walk across this long pool. It has been a long time since it was used. Duckweed & victoria lily pads have now populated the surface.

It's almost like a purification ceremony. She will cleanse all the shame from being a girl to become a "full-fledged" woman.

On the opposite end of the pool is a white table. White for purity and a new start. On the table is a crown of which she has to put on herself and wear for the rest of the day.

Here is when she steps out. Beat. Cold. Wet.

Spectators watch with food set out ready for the feast that follows.

After crowning herself, the garment is then lowered and stretched taut across the pool's surface. She will walk back on it while keeping her steps within the white...the path of purity & renewal.

Once upon a time, there was this little girl named Sally Skittles.

She LOVED Skittles. Like....LOVED them.

Aside for her eternal attachment to this candy, she unknowingly had this power to see through the cloaking technology of these aliens that have been wandering Earth for generations.

The aliens foresaw that she'll one day grow up to unravel their secrets and left a Skittles trail for her to follow...down into a basement.

She happily picked them up one by one, until the aliens unlatched one of their transport vessels on top of her and completely crushed her.

Tarloon VI Aircraft

The Tarloon VI went through a series of system malfunctions and caved in while descending down planet Tern. The crew decides to go out and explore the surroundings whie holding onto a cable to use as a guide on their way back.

Tarloon VI Aircraft:

A space exploratory spacecraft equipped with flexible wings capable of performing multiple aerial/in-flight functions (in flying, shielding/deflecting projectiles...etc).

It recharges by absorbing cosmic energy into the core. That energy can also be compressed and be used as projectile weapons to take down targets.

August 27th, 2007

It was like nothing I’ve ever seen before.

A tribe of people. ITSY bitsy people. Two-and-a-half foot maybe? PUNY. All living together in this petite village just off the coast of Pavana Lagoon.

This people...or creatures...they’re...words can...not...explain. They wear these masks whereever they go. Each one seems to house a special power of some sort. It makes me wonder how they thrive in such a harsh environment. Their masks perhaps?

at a strong number of twenty to thirty, they live in these little huts they built within this open coral basin. The tide here rises and falls without warning...all the time. Life looks like it’d be hard for us humans, but the elements don’t seem to bother them. Strangely.

They...they look like huge marshmellows stuck to plates. They don’t have a “real” face...so it seems. Instead, on their head they have this thing kinda like face plate. It’s almost like a footprint for the masks to attach onto.

They were very kind to me. I was greeted with gifts of all sorts...jewelry, little nibbles of this and that...all little collectible things.

Unfortunately, shortly after a wave came in and all was submerged. I floated to the top of the water and they remained under. Like nothing happened.

My tank’s out of air and so I couldn’t go for another dive.

But, I tried to sketch out what I saw in high hopes to remember this
incredible phenomenon.

Graviton Mask:

The waters around Kanük’s Seaside Villa is known for its unpredictable rise and falls. Kanükians have adapted to living here by wearing masks that house specific types of magic fit for specific tasks.

This is a Graviton Mask. Wearing this will allow the Kanükians to be resistant to effects caused by consistant changes in low/high tide. Much like a gravity suit, this mask will change to its density to oppose the water buoyancy and pressure. This keeps the Kanükian grounded as the water levels make drastic changes.

The mask can only be activated by its owner’s face plate. mask functions are then controlled by thought. Fins sprout from the sides when activated.

Nimrod Mask:

Only the best hunters of the Kanükian residents are able to wear this mask. Kanükians are highly active in hunting and collecting, thus they need the best that their magic can provide. Being that they are only about two-and-a-half feet tall, they are very vulnerable to the large marine prey they hunt.

What makes the Nimrod Mask unique is its ability to store the sun's light energy and release it as underwater bioluminesense.

The Kanükian hunters use this mask primarily when hunting in "packs".

They signal each other not by sound frequencies, but by flashes of bioluminescent light. Their masks are each carved with a special symbol. It's their way of identifying each other in the dark. The light emitted can be different colors, each color meaning a different move or objective to perform. The flashes are extremely bright. Imagine lightning underwater without the branches of electricity.

When compared with the Graviton Mask, one may notice how it's not as
vibrant in color. The reason is simply to not attract attention when
hunting.

Another ability this mask houses is complete
underwater camouflage. If you look on the top of the mask, you'll notice little plant-like growths called "Sangü". Sangü is a
deep-sea nudibranch that can quickly alter its texture and color to match its surroundings from one environment to the next. The Kanükians have figured to use the Sangü as a type of defense. As a result, ended up attaching them to the masks themselves.

Utter Mask Ideation:

Kanükians are merchants. They like to trade with those on land. Because of their masks, they are able to find and discover things undersea that other cannot.

Of course, not all races speak the same language. To solve this problem, the Kanükians have created an "Utter Mask".

Each mask has its "ear" and its "mouth". The wearer speaks into the mask of his/her own language. The language is then converted/translated into the language of who he/she is having a dialogue with.

There's no need for the two merchants of differing race to learn each other's language.

The Lyloon Galaxy, also known as the "Twin Spirals", is the result of two closely neighboring SBbc galaxies whose gravitational pulls have attracted one another. The blue one houses frigid temperatures while the other, volcanic...blistering environments.

Diameter: Approx. 247 light years

Thickness: 1,349 light years

Gaia II:

A story takes place this planet called Gaia II (4th planet from its star) in the hot galaxy. It has two satellites, Hunter & Harvest.

Position: 4th planet from its star. A gas giant
Satellites: Two. Hunter's Moon & Harvest Moon.
Atmophere: wet, acidic, corrosive, toxic, high-pressured, heavy, & dense
Atmosphere Composites: carbon dioxide (97%), sulfuric acid, chlorine, fluorine, methanal (formaldehyde)
Precipitation: "Virga", acid rain that evaporates before reaching ground level
Winds: 300 km/h
Temperatures: Avg. 600 degrees celsius
Terrain: Acidic swamps, nuclear marshes
Life-forms: They do not use photosynthesis for energy production. Instead they use chemicals from the atmosphere, soil, or each other.

An exploratory hovercraft called "Ghost II" was built by the Gaia I (3rd planet) scientists to seek out possible chances for expansion on Gaia II.

Deep-Sea Cardonian Angler

The Deep-Sea Cardonian Angler:

Order - Lophilformes
Family - Linophrynidae
Genus - Linophyrna
Species - Cardonias

The deep-sea Cardonian Anglerfish was first discovered on a deep-sea dive in 2005.

The fish are named for their characteristic method of predation. Anglerfish typically have three long filaments sprouting from the middle of the head. However, this particular species does not.

Instead they have a string of bioluminescent lines along the each side of their body to attract prey. Also, they leave particular scent trails that can only be detected by certain prey. This gives the Cardonian Angler a huge advantage in survival.

The male like the other species are much smaller than their female counterparts. The difference between this species and the others is that the male and female do not merge during mating. The female is able to release small pockets of "delayed-detonated" scent "sacks" that lures the males. These delayed explosions of scent are to help the female keep safe while attracting her mate.

This particular species of angler is found only in the western areas of the Mediterranean Sea.

I wish I knew how to post up the video for this model so you guys can get a full 3D pan of it. Also, the model originally had black fabric draped over it. My idea was to have you peek inside. This way the environment looks "deep-sea" with only a small lower voltage incandescent top-lighting it. But FOR PICTURES SAKE, I uncovered the model.

Many questions surfaced. He sat before the waterfall as he juggled those thoughts while being accompanied by a new animal friend.
